Origins:
    In the beginning there was no Nofate at all. Yet bored and confused highly educated computer related people would collect mp3s just for fun. However since 1998 more and more people started to collect mp3s and there was just no place to keep track of what each had on their Computers, CDS, Jazz drives, Zip drives, DVDS (future). Then with the help of Rookie it all changed. He was constantly nagging and making Kadmin to work on the project. Endless months have been spent to get the Search engine done. Countless days have been spent to get a workable script that will scan the CDS and import the music into SQL Database. But slowly with a bit of virtue rookie waited and finally we have arrived at what you can see now.

    Today the website still is under a lot of changes but the basic function of searching works. Currently more and more music is being added to our personal database. This site is to provide our friends with much simpler and easy way to search what we currently have on our cds. Instead of lending the cds to people who will scratch them never give them back and lose them in the end. We figure a way every one can be happy and every one can see what we have. This was done for all the people out there who wish to click on the link and search. Our goal is and will be the same; to provide people with music and we will stick by our word.

Whats an MP3?:
    MP3 stands for MPEG-1 Layer 3 that means Motion Picture Expert Group 1 Layer 3.

    Mp3 is a encoded wave file, it has sound quality nearly the same as audio CDs, but the size of the file is much smaller then the CD format. The Size of Mp3 file comparing to wave file is about 1:10, but the sound quality is around 95% of the wave file. However 128 KBPS is standard conversion. But more people are encoding Mp3s into 192 for even better quality. But the file sizes are much bigger wave is being encoded into higher quality

    There are many ways in playing mp3-files. What you need to have for playing mp3s are a computer, which has a sound card and speakers. Then you need to have software which will allow you to play mp3s. Most popular mp3 player on the web currently is Winamp, however there are plenty other ones, which will play mp3s. After you install the software all you have to do is double click, drag and drop or create a play list and it will play any mp3 that you have selected. Then you sit back listen and enjoy.
